Hola!! I am so excited today! For the first time in my entire life, I saw an inaugration ceremony - that too LIVE!! yay!
There is this flyover that has come up on airport road quite close to my house. And I was elated about its inaugration today, coz I have seen it come up from its inception stage till final completion. And it just looked quite cool.. the way they constructed the entire flyover without hindering the traffic at any single day!!
So when today I was walking down to office I saw this huge crowd.. and I was informed that the inaugration was to take place in abt half an hour! Man!! Was I thrilled or wat!
There were quite a few people hovering all over.. and waitin for the CM to come over and do his thing.. I jostled my way through that huge mob.. must admit, most of which were local shopkeepers, auto drivers, vegetable vendors, masons and other sordid-looking cheap men who were quite liberal with their amorous glances!! duh!
After a lot of hustle bustle and pushing around, I narrowed my way close to the foundation stone.. (Well, there was a foundation stone there, was visible only later when the curtain unveiled! hehe)
After waiting for a couple of minutes.. we see this huge convoy of cars... and our man gets out of it.. (Nah.. I am not a huge fan of Kumaraswamy ; the 'our man' terminology is just for the effect! :D) All photographers and all go *click* *click*.. lots of flashes and mayhem..People wanted to capture every minute of the "going-to-get-over-in-five-minutes" activity! and so people who so far were standing behind me like pet dogs, suddenly got a wild rush of blood and started behaving like ferocious wild beasts. They started peeping and kneeling on their toes to see it all..
Ou man, then was presented with a funky remote control.. He smiled gleefully. Then a pundit did some pooja and the sorts.. and our dude pressed the button on the remote control.. and 'swooooooosh' -- bang! the curtain unveiled!! It had hid behind itself a fundoo foundation stone!! with some stuff inscribed on it with golden letters! w0w! I was kinda excited to see all this from like 100 meters distance!
Then our dude was presented with a pair of scissors and he cut the ribbon..( which looked damn fragile neways...).. As soon as he cut it.. I was among the first people to start clapping! :) hehe...
Then our man looked around.. and the police men started running around to control the crowd which was kinda growing mad,. I could so relate to their ecstasy levels!! :)
It was hardly a five-minute affair, which ended as soon as the hero of the story jumped inside his car to inaugrate the flyover from the Indira nagar side as well..
I looked at the watch. It was 11o'clock. I had almost spent 1 hour there!!
But I was so glad I dint miss this awesaaam chance of seeing something so cool.. I dont think I was going to be able to see any such ceremony ever again!!
