Kudos to Kerala!

Life's good... infact very good.. :-)
There were a coupla pitiable things happening in the past few days.. but like all phases.. they too were transient.. and did slip by..
me is happy, since they were quite an experience! :D

Me is relaxing at home now..i find nothin better than spending time all by myself..

Went to Cochin this weekend...fell in love with the place...:-)
was just thinking on the way back, how i wasted my 17 years in a 'not-so-great" place kanpur.. and the other 4 years in that desert (read pilani)...
sigh...
called up my parents and told them.. how i wanted to build a house in wayanad or some other place in kerala..and just be there for the rest of ma life...
they seemed a lil taken aback! hehe..

i am plannin to go to pondicherry now! :-)

I am totally enjoying myself this Friday night. Putting a night-out at office, to complete the report. Man!! Is it fun or what!
I must have consumed as much coffee as is produced by the Caribbean Islands per day - till now.
I bought this big packet of Chocolate -Walnut cake from Nilgiris.. and it rocks!! I louuu walnuts! :)
And I am blasting music in the office in the middle of the night..!! Wow! What better ?!

Ma workplace is right next to the big glass window, but it is always curtained and there is a huge wall to restrict any atempts for reaching out for the string of the curtain..
Since I had this sudden urge of having a look at the airport road.. I jumped over this wall and uncurtained the whole goddamn thing. I broke the handle of it, anyways.

Now there is this HUGE life size window offering a wide panorama - right behind ma comp!

Planet - Accessories !!

IT HAPPENS all the time. One minute I am leafing through a magazine idly scrutinising a pretty looking handbag or a pair of shoes or some bauble or other.., when I catch sight of their price.. which'd most probably be more than the monthly mortgage with a fish market on top!!

HERE is a handbag that costs $300, shoes that come no less than $400 - an entirely separate genre altogether! That is when I realise that I have probably landed in the 'Planet-Accessories', where the aliens are not exactly unfriendly, but are no cheap date either! :-D

THE MURKY world of accessorising is quite stressful - I must say. Everytime I get dressed to go somewhere, Shalini'd let her disappointment and displeasure known. A sweet smile and shrug o' shoulders is no barter for the miserable way in which I dress!! The same goes for shoes : I'll wear them until they collapse underneath me on some important outing. My orange handbag is long pronounced dead by the same forensic scientists who've been attending murder investigations during Harappan days!

THE TRUTH is - I am completely clueless about how to accessorise - I have no taste, no 'eye' whatsoever!

I MUST admit then, that I'm probably not the best placed person to comment on the 'must-have' accessories, but still, "Could anyone point me toa real living human being who actually owns a $300 bag?? And then throws it away after 3 months - to get another kind - thats "in"..?!? Coz I dont understand, how anyone in the normal world affords it.

HOWEVER , where girlish consumerism is concerned, I'd say, that no woman ever got a bouquet from a man thanking her for being a drudge. However, I am not sure if I'm made of the right stuff.Leaving the starving millions out of it for a minute - these people do have mortgages, overdrafts, credit card bills to pay, right??

I'VE NO axe to grind about how women choose to spend their hard-earned/hard-borrowed cash for this.Whatever makes you happy, go for it - buy it ? Whom am I to talk, anyway?

I AM not exactly sticking a bowl on ma head and cutting ma hair myself, or saving my dough for some stinging emergency. I never deny myself a book, a Real Fruit Juice or an ISD call - for that matter !! But when I look at such over-priced things, I cant help but say - "C'mon Gurls! Nothing's that nice!!"
